name.com

at least i have a dream ;D, and tried to doodle on the plan---how it's going to look like for the cover page.
its a good feeling, to finally get my own domain and gather all my documented works and outputs in one place and so return the favour back to the sites i've been 'free'skating' with for many years now, --by linking it back to their site. and yes blogspot.com is the number one. ;D.

it's 70% under construction yet, but because the feeling is so exciting--let me share it with you here.
just the same, even though it's under construction, i have the ones already done, put up. you know why? the meter is running.

(it never turned out exactly as that on the inset tho')

flashback---

feeling like a starter again ;D. this is the kind of work that i do back in the days when after leaving art school---you job hunt, and prove yourself on how viable are your design ideas in the job market. i have always wanted to work in an ad agency---i tried my luck once at j. walter thompson (manila) appyling for a junior artist--but i didnt make it--because the competition weighted so much on: how prolific you are in 'anatomy drawing' by way of storyboard--and that was in the late '80s. all  the applicants are guys my age--fresh art grads, there was one --yes girl--gay/tomboy--we were more or less7 applicants then who took the test---and boy--they were all--prolific--in human figure...sigh..i ran out of the building fast...

and --oh--there was another one, yeah i remember--because that is how i was so eager to be in the world of mainstream advertising; because it was my major in my undergrad 'advertising art' years.
i tried applying again--to a smaller advertising firm--that does i think mainly--ads for prints--as collaterals, posters, flyers, and so forth. i was called and scheduled for interview and exam. i knew i made it---but--to  disclose, for the record--after keeping this for a thousand years to self--i backed out--why? hahahaha---i can't stand the soooo0 handsome art director that i am going to closely work with--it was just a small firm--modestly staffed to a more or less 10 people. i dont know what has gotten into me! i never returned on the agreed day to start working with them--even though they tried calling back...sigh..haha....my loss? to this day, who knows?
_____________________

my first job ever ;D --- was with  a company that manufacture clothes wear and sold over department stores nationwide. i design the prints. and it went that way for years as i switch companies from one to another. i always landed working as an artist/designer on women's wear. and that time,i gave up on ad agencies.

to date, i am into these. again: somebody asks me to do textile art accessories for them,
i draw them first--esp if that somebody is so much into details; me gets the feedback and suggestions and preferences--show it again--and then--execute into a final output/form. in the world of 'art' they classify it as: applied art.

perhaps...

this is the 'natural' thing to do, like your mind, body, MOUTH ;D, soul and spirit yearns for it----when you have been slaving yourself with work in the workforce and work in workhome for years! sigh....but no sigh...;D

the day when i took the day-off from it all! ;D
            (i'm wishing too---its like these every day...lol--or
                       the day never ends...)

detour

things happen ;( ;).  my wallet is sad; i;m happy tho'.
yesterday, i am supposed to buy an earphone for my handset, because i broke the old one.
you see, the 2a.m side jabs dead of the night when it is at its best--deathly quiet all around you ( if no one snores, yes..) often its impossible to last it, when there's nothing and no one's around you to cheer you up. i have no t.v--and i meant it  that way ;D, a radio, sound or music from your mobile is but of a big help, a cheerer a long the way to help you last the 2am doings.

no, i wasnt able to purchase the needed headset ;( because the store promptly closes--8 a.m, and i was enamored, sidetracked, and made the great detour mistake towards the supply shop--and there---i got lost. i got disoriented. i was  lame on my decision making, and i bought these instead.

i am now using my son's at the moment... and will post the outcome of the cause of the great detour yesterday, so00on.

pink and blue? why not? lovely marbled glass beads that i am so gaga with at the moment.

lime and marbled gray glass beads--happiness! ;D

custom headdress

custom requests are a great ways to challenge your ideas, and actual application of what you visualize and imagine through paper and pens. you dive and give in to --- the 'whines' and 'demands' of the customer/client/market--because they will pay you. i constantly find myself looking for the balance between 'fine art' 'art philisophy' 'marketing one's art' and many more...

as of now, to straddle between service, and getting paid with my production, cost accounting, art philosophy, is a means to finding an immediate solution to  meet some needs, while discovering and finding 'more' out there 'what' and 'that'-- will finally allow you one day, someday, the things that you love to do most, without having to think anymore of the 'basics'. sigh....

perks of being in the noble day job ;)

yes, one of the perks being in the world of instructing/educating is that you get to have an access to these what i call 'treasures' in the univ. library ;D. i hover this area once in every while to check the shelves with what's new. there are always lots and lots of new reads; and i often lament on the mounds of books to read that our fleeting life in this world will never match the needed time to stay longer to forever--just so to read 'em all ;(.

oh the joys of reading! rightly guided for choices can unlock excitement in the world of learning and wisdom, ' can even humble you down because the more you discover many things from its written pages, the more you realize, you know not a thing, and the need to-- hover more and longer, and bothers you henceforth.

one of the agendas i have, in the 'world to come' -- would be just to sit and discover yet.

everydayness

 visual musings...

to invest in 'signature' 'brands' is something. 'cheap thrill' however  keeps the economy
afloat ;D. keep 'em well edited ;D

space saver. my transitory living and lifestyle impedes me to bring wherever the steel shelves i have ;(

this doing keeps the economy afloat. scene in the noble day job. no, i am not always sewing; and that plastic pint container makes a very good tea cup as in CUP ;D. it nags me to 're-use'

hey! ;D storage system yey!

i live in a rented space just a stone's throw away from the place where i work. living and having an art/work studio in a place where you know you will not stay long, to keep from building things up, materials + hoards is a challenge to  self-control on impulse hoardings and maintain the goal of avoiding accumulations, and huge problems when moving out--say--anytime soon.

i have no problem with kitchen utensils, pots and cauldrons, tvs, refs, and microwaves and whatever ovens that is... i am so primitive on those areas. i have only with me the basics for cooking to nourish me and my children. ;D. no i don't invite friends nor entertain in my place--save the closest ones in my life. since most of the place i stayed where never meant for entertaining nor receiving guests.

my big, huge, ginormous problem mostly are the build-ups i constantly make on: books, clothing, textiles, small but many many bitsy-itsy theeengs--all for the 'art' i am gaga with these days--'after the noble day job'. and so, stumbling upon this site, and seeing these particularly---i died with joy ;D.

this is exciting! and a so great idea that will solve my big, huge, ginormous problem on storage system that should be: affordable, a DIY, less problem on huge things upon moving out. true to my marginal living, lifestyle---not forgetting 'grace','poise' ;D

----awwww--even sturdy, strong corrugated boxes will do--i think ;D

these will all do for my itsy-bitsy-tineee-thheeengs stored in the many many jars i have amassed

these made my day. and to give credit to where credit is due---here's the  link from where i saw these. go see! enjoy!

new wrist cuff and hand-stitches are all over ;D

its been a while since i made some wrist cuffs. i've made some new ones few days ago and this is the --one of them ;D

i've been wanting to re-open my etsy shop...
months ago...
and i know its all

up to me.

(6.75-7.75 inches wrist cuff made from new and reclaimed materials. with multiple adjustments! dry and or spot clean/hand-wash only. but hey my medium is textile. i love textiles--and as a lover of them all, i also love washing textiles to keep clean and yes always clean. i try my best to keep all my works in hand'washable' condition, lest stated otherwise-dry and or spot clean only. this one however, is washable too--just dry it quickly ;D) enjoy!

to have a marvelous weekend is  all
'up to you' ! ;D

the latest hoard

i posit today: hoarding makes one poor.

these are my latest hoard some are raw materials for art pin limited edition production; some for self ;D--as treat for being a good citizen that pay her tax/es--on time. they are automated deductions--so its ever always on time-hehe. still some can be considered as 'investment' with or without returns (my face) ;(
and, who ever said you can't buy happiness? if this isn't happiness, i guess its after all--hoarding! haha...

yes--most of those chains, beads and trinkets will be incorporated  to my --future art pin productions
(examining each while i read and check the exam papers ;D)

and a new book! ;D. and in it are 'my people; my kind' ola!
fashion on the deeper (oh yes--profound ;D) meaning and side of it is not just what most people would immediately think of. fashion--in meester vosovic's perspective and yes, count me in--is: a lifestyle. not necessarily for a show but exactly for the way you live your life--in it or with it. for him, its not just about buying, nor acquiring what's in at the moment--but exactly--producing, making, creating, being inspired, living, thinking; fashion is not necessarily about 'brands' and 'signature/s' although they are very much of part of what it is--for they make fashion evolve, and perhaps more exciting.
contemporary fashion can be living in one's preferred style. i hope i can 'invent' a style ;D--and eventually have my own buyers and followers. but alas! i am dead on japs fashion and living sense: their unpolished/w/o finish but super clean and well scrubbed floors,
delicate, spare things and design...everything...save animes ;( no fan of them--but my kids are.

a cotton shirt for layering. it's blue, it's hip, and it's made in japan ;D the reasons for why i bought it.

and out of nowhere i just have to include this in today's post. an all-seeing eye ;D a painted art on stone by an art student; a decorative piece on a landscape garden--from where i work.
